The Female Co is a non-profit initiative founded by former elite athlete and proud Torres Strait Islander Libby Cook-Black with the mission and purpose to empower young women through sport by reducing the social and economic barriers that ultimately limit aspiring sportswomen in remote areas of Northern Australia from entering or participating in higher fields of sporting. The Female Co aim to provide opportunities and pathways into high-level sports in curating programs and spaces that allow young women from Northern Australia to thrive and further develop their sports-craft.

The Female Co. came to Nowear for a refresh of their visual identity into something that felt true to their mission of empowering young women both on |and off the field. We explored how the brand shows up in sporting environments, schools, community spaces, and high-performance settings. The new TFC brand system is designed to live confidently across different avenues and spaces including sporting environments, schools, communities, and high-performance settings. Rounded shapes for approachability, a clean word mark for strength, and a subtle hair-bun detail as a nod to the girls who make the movement.

To accompany and celebrate the branding refresh, Nowear also produced a small collection of pieces including training kits, oversized t-shirts, socks, and hats.
